Dr. Rangarajan at the ISB

Dr. C. Rangarajan Posted by Hello

One country. The financial crisis of the century. One man. So when Dr. C. Rangarajan(ex-Governor of the RBI, ex-Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Chairman of the Economic Advisory to the P.M) teaches a course on 'Macroeconomics and Policy Instruments', you do not miss the course.

The course covered the principles of Macroeconomics, monetary policy, financial stability, exchange rate management and globalisation. The most eagerly anticipated session was the one on exchange rate management, coming from the man who bailed India out of the 1992 foreign exhange reserve crisis, in his capacity as the Governor of the RBI. And when you hear statements like "We had to devalue the Rupee", you know it was the real thing!

The course ended with Dr. Rangarajan uttering the words: "I'm sure our paths will cross in the future", an insight into the inexorable march of a man, who at 72, is not yet content to hang up his boots and rest on past laurels. Yet another source of inspiration at the ISB.
